Costa Blanca

Seven man-made and natural landmarks can be found in a place packed with history, art and tradition.

Speaking about the seven wonders represents a way of explaining how human ingenuity and nature have reached sublime levels, enabling the creation of works and landmarks. In the same way as the Greeks did in the Hellenistic period and just as Herodotus of Halicarnassus said in his texts, the citizens of the Costa Blanca have been building their particular cultural and artistic wonders, many of which have been preserved and restored for visitors to enjoy “in situ” while others are documented and explained in museums such as the Archaeological Museum of Alicante (Marq) and the Mubag. The list, as with all arbitrary references, varies according to feelings, support and subjective tastes. There are probably as many wonders as the number of people who have lived on this land and as the number of sublime landscapes created by nature. The richness of the natural and historical heritage created throughout the centuries from the successive presence of Phoenicians, Greeks, Iberians, Romans and Moors has provided us with an endless list of extraordinary works.
